What is the difference
between Proban, Nomex and Cordura Nylon Fabrics?
Proban is a 100% Pre-Shrunk Cotton fabric that has been chemically treated to make it flame resistant. Proban FR/7A fabrics are certified by Westex Inc. to retain their original flame resistance through fifty (50) home washes or twenty-five (25) industrial washes. Nomex is a fabric developed by Dupont. Inherently flame-resistant, NOMEX® won't melt, drip, burn or support combustion in the air. Performance benefits like these play a pivotal role in providing the valuable seconds racing professionals need to escape and survive these critical situations. And, this protection is long-lasting the exceptional flame-resistance provided by NOMEX® cannot be washed out or worn away. Cordura Nylon fabric is also a Dupont fabric. We offer it in both a 500 and 1000 denier weight for our Karting Suit line. It is a lightweight, abrasion-resistant and durable fabric excellent for karting were the driver is not strapped in and there is no chance of fire. Warning: Cordura fabric is NOT FIRE RESISTANT and will melt with extreme heat and or fire. What is SFI approval? The SFI Foundation, Inc. before washing to avoid damaging suit and embroidery. Dry-clean only
unless directed by the manufacturer otherwise.
